But soon enough, technology caught up to the cartooning world and visual and audio became multimedia entertainment This new technology gave these cartoons an edge with the latest in graphic technology that not only let them enhance cartoons but even come up with three dimensional art in motion pictures. This allowed for the most life like cartoon animation films that are available today, and even they are getting better. And as these cartoons became popular, animated movies have been produced, letting this genre compete in the film industry. In the mean time, episodes and later series of cartoons were slowly being included in regular network programming where children could watch cartoons at certain times of the day. But as time went by, and cartoon series became more popular, children were given their own networks, on channels such as Cartoon Network and the Disney Channel, where cartoons are featured all day, letting them enjoy these great series all day long, keeping them from bothering others. These separate cartoon channels available led to children watching their favorite cartoon animations without being exposed to the kinds of shows that are meant for more mature audiences, which is a good thing.
The educational values of cartoons have also increased as the viewers have increased.
